Those of you who know, know that I live for a natural face beat. You know, a nice nude with a pop of lip color. Maybe a little eyeliner to jazz it up. But not by much. Since it is the month we celebrate love, I wanted to create a look for Valentine's Day that was natural, yet glamorous at the same time. To achieve this look, I enlisted the help of my trusted friend/sister, Naomie of Blushed By Naomie.
First, I'd like to say how very proud I am of this young lady. I've known her since she was TEN years old (whew). She's done my makeup on many occasions over the years but it wasn't until recently that she took it seriously as a profession. She's gotten her fair share of practice and I'd say she's an expert now. :)
Because she's been able to make me look like myself in the past, she was the only one I wanted to collaborate with and trusted to perfect this look. I gave her a general idea of what I wanted and the rest was up to her. When I think of a natural glam look, the words soft and luminous come to mind. This look consisted of a mixture of pastel and nude colors. I always prefer to go a little bold on the eyes because they are my best feature.I think my favorite of all the products she used was the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I swear that thing soaked up every drop of oil on my face, leaving me with a smooth, dewy finish. Must buy.I won't give you a play-by-play in this post because the video does an excellent job of that. By the way, that was my first time really filming and editing a video all by myself and I'm pretty damn proud with how it came out. So if you like it, give it a thumbs up!And if you're in the Atlanta area, give Naomie a call. I promise you won't be disappointed. You can follow her on Instagram and book appointments on Style Seat. More contact info in the description box of the video. Love you forever, Mimi!
